Barry's not so good without the other Gibbs

So, it looks like another reality show will be coming soon enough, this one looking for a band. That could be an interesting show to watch, especially since there won't be an age limit to that competition. I guess we'll have to stay tuned for that.

Barry Gibb is performing live and he sings "To Love Somebody." Is it terribly mean to say that he's just awful? Well, I'll have to take the risk, because he's really, really awful. He's not even really singing - he's more like chanting the words. It's very strange and choppy and just all-around bad. And I can't tell if it's his veneers or possibly Botox, but he has this weird lisp that just adds to how weird he sounds. I don't know - all you BeeGees fans, feel free to rip me apart on this, but I think he's terrible.

I AGREE. WAY TO MUCH REPAIR WORK DONE ON HIS FACE. IT DOESN'T EVEN LOOK LIKE HIM. HE LOOKS SWOLLEN. AND SINGS AS BAD AS HE LOOKS.

Barry Gibb is a LEGEND! He hasn't had any work done on his face, he is a very handsome man, and very talanted.
I'd like to know what some of you do for a living, and what you must look like?! Jealousy is a wasted emotion!!

I don't even know how American Idol stay's on the air, it's pathetic! They are lucky that Barry Gibb graced their stage, he's too good for that show.

Barry has gotten old and unfortunately is not the svelte hunk of his hay-day. It happens to almost all of us. As a professional singer I can tell you that if the voice, like any muscle in the body, is not exercised all the time - it gets tight and doesn’t work like it once did. Perhaps Barry had been focusing on writing and producing more recently and not working the voice regularly. So he used older singer tricks – nothing new on American Idol, to walk through the song. For his fans I guess it was okay, for me I would have rather seen him coach the young singers and impart those five decades of wisdom and leave with pride - - and the same is true for many of the other Idol mentors. Experiences shared by successful pros to young hopefuls is priceless – just play their old records when they sounded great Idol!

I've always been a BeeGees fan, but about a decade ago - for some obscure reason - Barry got his perfectly fine teeth replaced. He's always been a bit buck-toothed, and his bottom teeth were quite crooked. And suddenly he had them replaced, top and bottom, with these HUGE, way too straight, chicklets. Horrible. The shape of his face changed due to arthritis medication (that's also partially causing hairloss). Look at his hands on youtube: the cartillage (sp) in his hands and other joints is disappearing. He's in constant physical agony and his condition has been deteriorating since 1992.

At least Tony Bennett came up with an illness that prevented him from performing. It's painful to watch the parade of has beens that they bring to this show. Where's Paul Anka? We don't need Pink either. Enough with the filler! These hour long results shows are deadly.

Barry did a great job of performing on the second night, but something was missing alright, and he sure could have used his brothers.

I sure miss the days:

I believe that Barry is a great songwriter, in his own right, but I too miss the days:

Barry Gibb is truly a legend. I have been a fan for over three decades. I waited all season just to see him. Who cares that he has aged, we all must some day. I think that maybe we should focus on the impact that he has made on the music industry and not waste time with all the negative comments.I think he looked and sounded great I only wish that I could have traded places with any one of the final four just to be in his presence. I loved you Barry!

It is so easy to sit back and pick someone apart. We will all if we are lucky enough age. Some better than others. Does that change who we are or were? Its not our outward appearance that determines who or what we are. Barry Gibb is and has been one of the most sexiest men ever and its not all about just his looks. Its the whole package that just gets better and better. If only we will be able to look back on our lives when we are 61 and be able to dare comment on Barrys teeth. What will other people be trashing us on? Probably more than just our teeth! It would be nice to see others as God sees us.

I was not going to comment, but, could not help it after all. I feel so sorry for all you self appointed judges out there. Here is Barry Gibb who had dedicated his life to music and has given millions of people such beautiful music and you fools sit there and try and rip him to shreds just like a pack of jackels. I feel sorry for you, really I do, you are missing out on not only THE GREATEST SONGWRITER of our time, but also THE GREATEST SINGER. No one even comes close to writing such breath taking ballads! Singing them how he does is impossible. Too bad you lack too many good qualities in your own lives that you have to try and destroy another person.Your time would be better spent looking in a mirror and trying to figure out why you are so bitter. Jelousy is not a pretty sight. My comment to Barry is, you are the Best, and, Thank You for all the absolutely beautiful singing and song writing you have given us.Sandy Willis

Just yesterday I was feeling sorry for myself. Then I remembered self pity is just that," selfish." So I pulled myself up by my bootstraps, quickly counted my blessings and got over myself.
Today I happpened on this website.
I can honestly say I now have a better focus for pity and my dears it all belongs to those of you who have the piety to judge, scrutinize,
belittle and hurt the feelings of such a loving, caring, giving, talented ,humorous, witty, devoted family and God fearing man who has not only given us such beautiful songs by bearing his very soul to us strangers but has also always made time for his fans ,is humbled by us and has never ever forgotten where he started from. He has managed to do all this and still balance and treasure his marriage; to whom I believe I have got to be her biggest fan for sharing him with the entire world ; and father and raise 5 beautiful children. I haven't any doubt both he and Linda have passed these virtues onto them.
Now for the aging and arthritis...I too am aging and suffer with arthritis. This was part of my self-pity session yesterday, but God is love and has grace for all of us and when I consider alternate aging difficulties I am grateful;many people are far less fortuneate and ill. As for his teeth...get real people ! Are you his dentist? Do you know what his reasonings were for dental repair? I doubt you do but isn't it truly wonderful that we live in an era that allows us to have teeth for an entire lifetime and the health benefits from that ? I haven't had the privilage of the internet in a few years so I do apologize for the very tardiness of my entry. Barry, if you read this I would with all my heart, love to speak with you. By the way you don't know it but we were practically neighbors as I live down the lake from your Galletin home and sympathize with your fire and loss of home as my husband and family had the same fate 5 years ago. We are so sorry you all had to endure such a heartache.
Most of all, Barry, you were AWESOME on Idol! But that's no surprise really, you always are.
